Create a Stat Card
Turn a single number or a small set of stats into a bold animated card — counters, money reveals, and stat groups that land a data point on screen.
Goal: put a single stat — or a tight group of stats — on screen with impact. Expected result: a short animated MP4 showing your number(s). Required plan: Right now (beta): everything is free and unwatermarked. Nothing below is charged yet. Required assets: none — just the numbers and labels. Estimated time: about 3 minutes.
#Overview
Stat cards make a number the hero. They're the fastest way to land a figure — a view count, a price, a percentage lift — in a video. HeyMotion's number templates live mostly in the Data category, plus one in Core.
The stat family:
- Big counter (Core) — one large number that counts up to its value.
- Money counter (Data) — a currency amount that counts up.
- Stat trio (Data) — three stats side by side.
- Stat tiles (2×2) (Data) — four stats in a grid.
- Big vs small numbers (Data) — contrasts one dominant figure against a smaller one.
- Crowd stat (YOU pin) (Core) — a "you are 1 of N" style stat that pins the viewer in a crowd.
#When to Use It
Drop a stat card whenever a number is the point of the sentence. Use Big counter or Money counter for a single figure, Stat trio or Stat tiles (2×2) to show a few at once, and Big vs small numbers to make a comparison.
#Before You Begin
You'll export an MP4, so use a Chromium browser — Google Chrome (desktop) is recommended. No account is required. Have your figures and their labels ready.
#Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the studio at https://heymotion.io/app.
- Under Data (or Core for Big counter / Crowd stat), pick the template that matches how many stats you have.
- In the edit panel, enter each number and its label. For Money counter, enter the amount.
- Set Clip length (seconds) — give counters enough time to count up and settle; 3 to 5 seconds usually reads well.
- Press ↺ Replay to watch the count animate.
- Click ⬇ Export MP4 to render.

On a 9:16 or 4:5 canvas, a single Big counter reads better than a four-stat grid — small tiles get cramped in portrait. See Canvas Sizes and Aspect Ratios.
#Example
A channel milestone: choose Big counter, set the value to 100,000 with the label "subscribers," give it 4 seconds, and export. Cut it in as the host says the number out loud so the count lands on the beat.
#Best Practices
Give counters room to breathe — too short and the count barely animates before it ends. Keep labels to one or two words. For portrait video, prefer a single big number over a dense grid.
#Common Mistakes
Cramming four stats into a portrait clip is the usual misstep; they get small. The other is setting the clip so short the number never finishes counting.
