Which image formats HeyMotion accepts for uploads, the output video format, and honest guidance on size and storage.
This reference covers the file formats HeyMotion accepts for image uploads, the format it exports video in, and practical guidance on file sizes and storage.
#Image Formats (Input)
HeyMotion accepts any image format your browser can display. In practice that covers all the common ones:

Because uploads are read directly by your browser, if a picture displays in a browser tab, it will work in HeyMotion.
For logos and any graphic that needs to sit on your brand background, use a transparent PNG (or SVG) so there's no boxy background around the artwork.
#Video Format (Output)
Exports come out as MP4 (H.264 / AVC, VP9 fallback) at 30 fps and 10 Mbps. That single output format works everywhere — editors, social platforms, and web players. See Export an MP4 for the full export walkthrough.
#Size Guidance
There is no hard size cap enforced in HeyMotion today — the app won't reject a large file. But large images make the preview and export slower because they're embedded directly in the graphic.
No fixed limit today, but very large images slow the preview and export — keep logos under ~1 MB and photos under ~4 MB.
Treat these as guidance, not limits: the app won't stop you, but smaller, appropriately-sized images keep everything responsive.
#Storage
Brand logos and per-graphic images are stored inside your brand/preset data, not a separate asset library, so there is no separate storage quota today.
In other words, an uploaded image travels inside the brand or preset you save it in, rather than sitting in a shared media library with its own quota.
#What's Not Supported
Video-asset import is not supported. You can't upload an existing video clip to composite into a template — HeyMotion builds animation from templates and text, plus still images. If you need to combine your exported MP4 with other footage, do that in your video editor after export.
#Best Practices
Keep logos small and transparent; keep photos reasonably sized; and if a graphic will be reused a lot, remember the image is embedded in that preset, so swapping the file later means updating the preset.
