Chain Cards into a Sequence

Use the Sequence Builder to chain your saved creations into one continuous MP4 — reorder the cards, preview the chain, and export a single file.

Beginnerfeature guide

The Sequence Builder chains your saved creations into one continuous MP4. Instead of exporting five separate clips and lining them up in your editor, you build the order inside HeyMotion and export a single file — each card plays its full animation, then cuts to the next.

#Overview

The builder lives at the bottom of your My creations gallery. Every saved creation card has a small film-strip button — clicking it adds that creation to the sequence strip. The strip shows your chain as chips you can reorder or remove, along with the running total duration.

Because it chains saved creations, sign in and save the cards you want to use first. Anything in your gallery can join a sequence.

#Build a sequence

  1. Open My work → My creations in the studio.
  2. Click the film-strip icon on each creation you want in the chain, in any order.
  3. Drag the chips on the sequence strip to reorder, or remove ones you don't want.
  4. Click ▶ Preview to watch the whole chain play back-to-back in the main canvas.
  5. Click Export to render everything as one MP4. Each card's intro animation restarts cleanly at its cut, and the finished file lands in your Downloads like any other export.

#One canvas size per sequence

A sequence locks to a single canvas size. The first card you add sets the size for the whole chain, and the strip shows a badge with the locked format. If you add a creation saved at a different size, HeyMotion asks before including it. This keeps the exported video clean — a 16:9 card and a 9:16 card can't share one frame.

If you need the same content in two formats, save the creation in both sizes and build two sequences.

#Cuts and transitions

Cards join with hard cuts — the moment one card's duration ends, the next begins. For a smoother feel, drop a card from the Transitions category between two content cards; transition templates are designed to act as bridges.

#Current limits

The Sequence Builder is an MVP and improving. Right now sequences can't be saved and re-opened later (build and export in one sitting), and there are no automatic crossfades between cards — use Transition cards instead. Both are on the roadmap.
