#Overview
YouTube's standard frame is 16:9 at 1920 × 1080 — exactly HeyMotion's default and native canvas. That makes YouTube the most straightforward destination: no scaling quirks to think about, and the graphic fills the frame edge to edge.
#Before You Begin
You'll export with a Chromium browser (Google Chrome (desktop), Edge, Brave, or Arc). Safari and Firefox may not encode video. No account is required.
#Step-by-Step Instructions
#1. Confirm the dimension is 16:9
Open the dimension menu above the preview and make sure 16:9 (1920 × 1080) is selected. It's the default, so it usually already is.
#2. Pick a template that fits the moment
Common YouTube inserts include:
- Stat cards — Big counter, Stat trio, or Stat tiles for a number you're calling out.
- Lower thirds — Lower-third tag or Name lower-third to label a speaker or topic.
- Subscribe animations — the Subscribe templates for an end-of-video call to action. See Create a Subscribe Animation.
#3. Add your content
Fill in the edit-panel fields with your real text and numbers. Set your brand once in the Brand panel if you haven't, so the graphic matches your channel.
#4. Set the clip length
Set Clip length (seconds) to how long you need the insert on screen — three to six seconds suits most on-screen graphics.
#5. Export
Click ⬇ Export MP4, watch the progress bar, and the 1920 × 1080 file downloads to your browser's Downloads folder as <template-id>-<timestamp>.mp4.
#6. Drop it into your editor
Import the MP4 into your editing app and place it on your timeline where you want it. Because it's a standard 16:9 clip, it drops in without resizing. See Use in Premiere Pro.
Using an overlay template (like Lower-third tag)? It exports on green #00FF00 — chroma-key the green out in your editor so only the graphic sits over your footage.
#Best Practices
Set your brand colors and logo first so every insert matches your channel automatically. Keep inserts short and punchy, and place lower thirds and stat cards where they won't collide with your own edited captions.
#Common Mistakes
Exporting in Safari or Firefox is the usual snag — switch to Chrome if export fails. And double-check the dimension is 16:9 before exporting if you've been working on vertical content in the same session.
